In December 2022, Google partnered with the iconic band Gorillaz to debut the world first geospatial music performance. Turning Time Square (NYC) and Piccadilly Circus (London) into virtual stages, the experience allowed fans to step into an AR music video for the launch of the new track, Skinny Ape.

The immersive content was then used to create the official music video released on YouTube. The experience was promoted across channels, including through massive interactive OOH in partnership with Outfront (US) and Ocean Media (UK).


The project was widely recognized by the creative industry winning a Gold Lions in Cannes, 2 Webby awards, The Tribeca Festival X Award and was nominated for the Emmy Awards.

My role on this program spanned across aIl the aspects of the development. I was the instigator of the program, working with Nexus Interactive and Gorillaz to greenlight the opportunity, design the production and coordinate across a dozen partners and product teams. During the development, I oversaw the creative execution on behalf of Google as executive creative director.
